Marion Oaks is located in the green rolling hills of Marion County, Florida. It is about an hour northwest of Orlando and a few minutes south of Ocala, FL. World renown as “The Horse Capital of the World”, Ocala is known for its wonderful climate, rolling hills and green pastures.
Marion Oaks is just a few miles west of Interstate 75, which is the major north/south corridor through Florida. This location provides easy access to all Florida offers. Less than an hour to the west are the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico. If you prefer to wiggle you toes in the soft sand of the Atlantic Ocean’s beaches, you only need to travel a little over an hour to the east!
Within a 90 mile circle of the community, you will find all that Florida is famous for – and then some! This includes the world’s best beaches and theme parks, like Disney World, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Silver Springs, Kennedy Space Center and Universal Studios – to name just a few! For the sports enthusiast, nearby sports teams include the Orlando Magic (basketball), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (football), Tampa Lightning (hockey), Florida Gators (all collegial sports), Daytona Motor Speedway (auto racing) and the spring training facilities for the New York Yankees (baseball).
Within Marion County there is plenty to do as well. Marion Oaks is just minutes away from hundreds of miles of rivers and countless lakes for those who love to fish, canoe, kayak and ski. These include the Crystal River, Rainbow River and the Silver River. The county also is home to beautiful artesian springs, which are some of the world’s largest natural springs. The community amenities include two 18-hole championship golf courses, a recently expanded community center, parks and recreation areas. All this with no community association fees as roads and community areas have been deeded to the county for maintenance and the golf courses – open to the public – are privately owned and maintained.
